With the entire country under the threat of the coronavirus pandemic, everyone is trying to help out each other get through the ordeal. For Melania Trump, she took the time to make a series of tweets offering ways to bond with family members even with social distancing and self-quarantine in place.
“Don’t put family at risk for #COVID19 by visiting them in person,” Melania Trump tweeted, Express reported. “Call grandparents or invite them to a video chat. Keep your loved ones safe by staying connected while physically distant.”
Older people are at a greater risk of developing more severe complications of the COVID-19. For this reason, health officials advised them to isolate themselves from the rest during the coronavirus pandemic.
However, Melania Trump knows that isolation can be very lonely for the elderly with no children and grandchildren to keep them company. But the FLOTUS has the perfect solution for children and grandkids to show their love and care without endangering the health of older family members.
“Many elderly people are unable to receive visitors right now & while this will all be temporary I encourage children to create colorful cards or pictures & show them to their loved ones via FaceTime,” Melania Trump tweeted, NY Times Post reported. “The thought would mean a lot & bring a smile to many faces!”
Melania also expressed her gratitude for the men and women in the frontlines of the country’s battle against the coronavirus. “On behalf of the entire nation – thank you to all of the front line responders – especially nurses, doctors & volunteers- we thank & salute you for all that you are doing in these trying times,” the FLOTUS tweeted. “We will get through this as one country united!”
The First Lady also thanked the USNavy medical personnel and crew of the naval hospital ship USNS Comfort, which recently docked in New York, one of the hardest-hit areas in the U.S.
“As the #USNSComfort hospital ships off to New York today, we are reminded of the selfless acts of courage our @USNavy medical personnel & crew are doing to ensure all Americans stay healthy & safe as we fight the spread of #COVID19,” Melania Trump wrote on social media. “Thank you to everyone in the military for your everyday courage!”
